It seems a long time ago I joined the magazine team with the animal ambulance, but the issue is now published, and there’s my name printed under “Redactie:” (“Editorial:”) 🙂
Inside the glossy cover are 4 of my articles; the original English versions are here:
- Working together with a wildlife shelter.
- How to build a hedgehog house
- A bird in the bush
- A Hedgehog with a Headwound

The official title is “Animal of the Season: The Hedgehog”. Most of this is written by someone else, but it was combined with my short piece on building a hedgehog house, for which I received kind permission from Emma Kate Farley, a hedgehog expert at LittleSilverHedgehog.com. My contribution (in English) is here.

I took the photo with permission from the enforcement agency officer during a rescue so I could show it to my daughters as I felt proud about working with them. Now I’m reproducing it here (also with permission) because I’m still proud! 🙂

This came from another rescue – I couldn’t help admire a hedgehog seeking help from a pet shop, so I returned and asked store owners Bianca and Desney if I could write about it. They agreed – and were more than happy to tell me about other hedgehogs they’ve helped too! 🙂

I’m also running a photo competition where the winning photo (theme: “Eyes of Hope”) will be the front cover of the next issue
Next Step
Issue 48. Not a surprise is it?! But the front cover might be! I’m excited to see the competition entries come in, and naturally to start writing my next articles. I wonder how those will look?! 😉
