“Show my work”
I’ve committed to becoming a science writer and set myself on the journey towards writing high quality news articles and stories. And when I’m good at it, I can show my work.
Austin Kleon’s book, “Show Your Work!” suggests something slightly different.
“Human beings are interested in other human beings and what other human beings do”, he writes.
In other words, instead of becoming an expert and then showing my work, people might be more interested to read about my process of becoming a good science communicator. And yes, they may want to see my productions along the way too. (I’m fully expecting these to improve as I go along!)
Show my working!
#ShowMyWorking. Documenting my process, and I’ve got the website to do it! No doubt it will undergo a few tweaks and adjustments, but this is secondary. The important thing is I have a stage.
Stand by for the next scene…
